5 Key Considerations in Selecting Antique Chandeliers

1. Make sure your chosen chandelier is a real focal point of your room without being too overpowering.  As a rule of thumb, add the length and width of your room together (in feet).  Then use this number as the starting diameter of your chandelier (in inches)
2. In walkways, make sure there is at least a 7ft gap between the bottom of the chandelier and the floor for obvious reasons.  If you have an 8ft high ceiling, this will not be suited to antique chandeliers as they'll simply be too big and would look out of place.
3. Chandeliers can have several tiers of lights, so even though they may not look the biggest, they could give off far too much (or too little) light for your room.  If it's too much you can compensate by using a dimmer switch or lower wattage bulbs, but you're particularly stuck if there's not enough light.
4. Antique chandeliers generally have to be rewired or have been converted from candle power to meet modern electrical standards.  Make sure you get a certificate of compliance from your supplier to make sure it's safe to connect up to the mains.
5. Often, chandeliers are part of a set, so if you have the right size room, you may want to look for matching pairs or ones that have complementing or matching wall lights to provide the full effect.

Buying an antique chandelier is an investment, but make sure it adds to your room and doesn't detract from the rest of your decor.  If you rush into choosing one, it could end up being a costly mistake.

I'm trying to price an Okabe shave ice machine?

I'd like to find out more info about this machine. Is it an antique? Has this company been bought out by another company? It seems to be commercial grade. The color is yellow and it's made out of metal.

If you see a place that has it, why not ask where they got it? I didn't find anything on the internet, but there were some other kinds of shave ice machines.
If they won't tell you where they got it, at least maybe they can confirm the brand name, etc.
