RemitPlus Processes Checks for Broward County

As the fifteenth largest county in the United States, Florida’s Broward County  (www.broward.org) continues to grow at a steady pace each year.  By 2010, Broward County predicts their population will be close to 2 million.

Currently serving over 55,000 utility customers and processing over 47,000 payments each month, Broward County Water Services was using an antiquated system.  Hosting a large footprint NCR 7780 scanner, Broward had to house it in a separate room because it was too noisy.  The 7780 was still utilizing microfiche technology as well.  With a single employee processing payments, check scanning alone was requiring nearly five to six hours a day. 

Solution

In 2007, ProfitStars’ RemitPlus system was installed along with a Canon CR-180 check scanner.  The CR-180 is a small footprint, desktop unit that runs quietly and efficiently.  “RemitPlus does everything the larger system does and more,” states Jerry Nickell, Customer Service Manager for Broward County Water Services.

RemitPlus allows for multiple batches throughout the day, as well as multiple users, freeing up employees to focus on customer service.  RemitPlus’ search feature has helped Broward County increase their level of customer service by providing instant check and payment research while their customer is on the phone.  Before, item research was a tedious and time consuming process and they could not offer their customers instant feedback.

Impact

Since RemitPlus allows for multiple users, processing time has now been cut in half, with 2-3 employees scanning, keying, and verifying reports.  Broward County has also seen vast improvements in their customer service approval ratings.  Before RemitPlus, they had customer service ratings below 80%, now since RemitPlus allows them to assist their customers in an efficient and timely manner, they are seeing those numbers grow.  Last quarter they reported a rating of 83%. 

Broward County has just ordered a second RemitPlus system for their remote branch and are excited about saving more time and money.  They are also in the process of switching from an armored car taking their payments to the bank each day to electronically depositing their checks into the bank, which they are anticipating will save them even more money and allow for a later cut off time.

Canon rebel xt body armor will this work on my camera. Please read.?

I have a canon rebel xt and I want to get a body armor for it because I don't want it to get any damages to it. I couldn't find a body armor anywhere until I came across this one off of amazon. It says its for the canon rebel xt but i don't see an area for the second LCD displaying shooting screen. I was wondering if anyone knew if this is just an example picture and it will fit on my camera or not? I am going to call amazon about this but I just wanted to know if anyone can help me here first before I call them tomorrow.

I am not sure if that will fit but I checked the Camera Armor website and they do not list one for the XT. They do have it for the XTi. You may want to contact them. They will be able to tell you if they make or have made one for the XT. They should also be able to either sell you one or at least give you the serial number of the original.
