New or used body parts after an accident?
I have an '03 Taurus and I damaged the hood and grill and front bumper. According to Indiana law I have the right to new body parts if I want them (that law will expire after Jan1) My insurance company sent me a form to choose either
1) New body parts made by or for Ford
2) New body parts made by someone else
3) Used body parts.
Can someone give me advice on which one to choose or does it matter?
If you have the choice, I would go with new body parts made by ford. Second choice, would be used Ford body parts (at least they are still ford parts). "After market" or parts made by other people don't generally fit quite right.
