Konica Minolta Photocopiers - One Hundred Years in The Making
Although Konica is better known for manufacturing and supply of cameras, this side of the business was ended in 2006, when all camera manufacturing was handed to Sony. Prior to this decision and subsequent cessation, Konica merged with Minolta in 2003.
Minolta has its origins dating back to 1928 when it started manufacturing camera equipment, film and business machines, whereas Konica dates back to 1828 believe it or not, when the owner of Tokyo's largest pharmacy started to sell photographic equipment from his store. The company grew until 1987 when the name was changed to Konica. Konica Minolta Holdings Inc was launched in 2006 to focus on its then core business of producing some of the worlds best business machines including fax machines, printers, and photocopiers. Initially after the merger the company spent a lot of time researching and developing new products, whilst marketing and selling what were at that time the top of the line products that were being developed by each of the respective companies prior to the merger.
Their core focus was on Multi Function Printers, which is still where they hold a huge market share today. After the merger and as a result of the research and development being carried out by the new management teams, future products were going to see a much stronger emphasis on the combining of both technologies each company was once individually mastering. Of course one of the key areas of success for Konica Minolta has been in the medical field with their photo imaging technology, but in general terms, Konica Minolta would still command a leading position across the globe for their business machine lines.
For the third year running now, Konica Minolta has remained at the number one spot for producing the top office copier on the market today, based on the Brand Keys report. This index of the best brands was established in 1997 and it considers the best brands to engage consumers as well as create very loyal customers. It is known as the Brand Keys Customer Loyalty Engagement Index. This season the index covers a staggering 518 brands, across 71 different categories, so to be at the top of that index, is something quite remarkable. To hold the top spot for three years consecutively, means that you are certainly doing something right by your customers, and developing fantastic products.
For the category of Multi Function Copiers, Konica Minolta topped the list. In doing so they beat out other famous brands like Xerox, Ricoh, Panasonic and Hewlett Packard, among others. This is the measure of a great company with great products. To think that they started with their technology more than 100 years ago in the case of Konica, and are now the market leaders in what they specialize in, provides immense consumer confidence in knowing that not only are the Konica Minolta products second to none, the service and company commitment to the future is also top notch.

I need to put film in my 35mm Minolta X-700 Camera, but how do you open the film case in your camera?
Its for photo class..please help
Sit the camera on the table in front of you with the lens pointing away from you (like you would to take a picture). On the left side of the camera, on top, look at the dial where you set your film speed. Pull up on it. Bingo! The back will spring open.
I'm guessing you don't have the Owner's Manual for your camera. Trying to use the camera without the Manual will prove as frustrating as trying to thread a needle while blindfolded. So if you don't have the Manual, you need to buy one. Try eBay or http://www.butkus.org or http://www.craigcamera.com
I own two X-700's but unfortunately I don't have an extra Manual. If you'll email me I'll scan a few pages to get you started and send them to you.
