Patent and Colony Collapse Disorder (CCD)
Patents directed to cell phone technologies may have new troubles not from infringers but
from one of nature's tiniest and most resourceful insects. Honey bee colonies are in
trouble in many parts of the US, Great Britain and other locations worldwide and
scientists are attempting to find out why. It is important to realize the crucial role that the
lowly insect plays in the pollination of many dozens of crops globally. Without their
assistance, there would be a drastic reduction in the production of various consumables
impacting the cost, quality and possibly even survival of many local communities
dependent upon these food products.
Observations of bee populations in various locations indicate that the ongoing
phenomena of colony collapse disorder (CCD) may indeed be linked to cell phone usage.
CCD, a recent phenomenon that has researchers baffled has been blamed on a variety of
natural and man-made causes. In an attempt to determine the cause of CCD, just about
everything has been implicated and the culprits range from the alleged ongoing global
climate change to pesticides soaking in the environment due to agricultural spraying.
Now comes a much more scientific approach from the Indian University of Panjab that
may have a gravely negative impact on cell phone usage. In a controlled study conducted
at this northern Indian university, cell phones were activated a few times a day in the
presence of bee colonies. It was hoped that the effects of electromagnetic radiation on
the bee colonies could be thereby ascertained without having external inputs that would
skew the results. The findings were not pleasant to those of us who are attached to our
wireless devices.
Panjab University scientists determined that the presence of even light electromagnetic
radiation of a few minutes per day could dramatically affect bee honey production. As a
result, in a few months the bees stopped producing honey. In addition to that, it was
noted that the queen bee stopped producing eggs drastically curtailing the survivability of
the hive since its population immediately dropped precipitously. It is suspected that
something in the bees' makeup is being stressed by the application of the incoming
electromagnetic fields and waves.
Some scientists have theorized that the bees are unable to return back to their colonies
because the radiation is interfering with a natural colorant called cryptochrome found in
various species. This colorant permits the animals who have this in their system to direct
their movements with regards to the natural fields present on the Earth. However, the
cell phone radiation can indeed cause confusion in nature's sweetest insect and thus
driving them away from home and to a most certain death in the forest. If the study's
results can be duplicated and it is found that indeed the scientists are onto something, we
may have to decide between our cell phones or our food supply. Patents directed to cell
phones and the assignees may look out for restricted phone usage should the results of the
study hold water. Bzzz Bzzz Bye Bye.

i am trying to find a camcorder (minidv) that will fit what i want out of it?
(minidv) I want to take good pictures not awsome but good maybe 5 mp or 4mp and good video to with ccd ,good color , good zoom , and image stabilizer. if you know of one like that , thats not to expensive ( my limit is like 400$) tell mmeeee pleaassee
Get a Panasonic PV-GS320, it's a 3CCD camcorder and you can get them under $400 if you shop around (ebay). Also, the best things I've read say don't buy a camcorder to use as a digital camera. Buy a digital camera. I bought a great Olympus Camedia 4MP camera for just a little over $100. It's used, but digital cameras don't have as many moving parts as camcorders and tend to last longer. Mine works perfectly and takes beautiful photos.
