You Can Say it With More Than Flowers
When it comes to buying innovative Gifts for Her, it pays to be both original and thoughtful; after all, if you buy similar Gifts for Her, or fail to stand out from the crowd, even the very best of intentions can fall a little flat. For example, whilst many girls may voice a desire to receive flowers from their partner a little more often than usual, it's not a good idea to rely on flowers as your sole Gifts for Her, especially if you're looking to impress! So, whether your message is one of love, friendship, or platonic affection, if you're going to say it with the aid of Gifts for Her, relying upon such beauties is a certain road to ruin.
But why do people give flowers as Gifts for Her? Certainly within the popular culture of Western societies - although other cultures may also attach the same degrees of significance to flowers - differing types of flowers have different connotations. Not generally given as Gifts for Her, poppies are usually used to represent feelings of consolation in relation to death. Similarly, lilies and irises are used to represent either life or resurrection, and can most frequently be found during burials. However, red roses can make fantastic Gifts for Her, as they are often used to signify feelings of passion, beauty and love.
In Asia, specifically Japan, while not necessarily used for the creation of Gifts for Her, flowers have a special significance through the art of flower arranging known as Ikebana. With its emphasis of minimalism, Ikebana seeks to bring together both the natural world and humanity; the art seeks to emphasise not just form, but also line and shape. It's also a pastime that's not considered as being only appropriate for women; many practitioners of Ikebana are men, and it was even a pastime of the samurai.
Ikebana also has a spiritual side, a side which is considered important to many, if not all, of the art form's practitioners; it is believed that the art is capable of making one more tolerant and patient of differences, and it also represents an opportunity for practitioners to become closer to the natural world. And it's probably safe to say that the finished arrangements make for wonderful Gifts for Her.
However, given the importance of a little variety, instead of simply opting for flowers, if you're look for great value and original Gifts for Her, why not opt for the Pink Heart - Woolly Warmer? The perfect gift for anyone looking to melt hearts, the Woolly Warmer is a gorgeous hot water bottle wrapped in a soft cover made from wool; it's the perfect choice for dealing with the cold winter nights.
Alternatively, if you're looking for slightly saucier Gifts for Her that are guaranteed to raise the temperature a little, why not go for a Hot Hunks Personalised Calendar? Literally wall-to-wall with hot hunks, every month is definitely a page - not to mention a head - turner; even the cold winter months are pretty hot!
However, if she's looking to relax and unwind, one of her favourite Gifts for Her could be a stylish Cappuccino Set. Featuring a set of seven cups decorated with every day of the week, the Cappuccino Set is presented with a stylish storage rack, making them both functional and desirable.
Originally presented in a porcelain cup, the Italian Cappuccino is traditionally created with espresso coffee, steamed milk and hot milk; the name is reported to originate from the Cappuccini, an order of Franciscan Minor Friars. The drink acquired its name as a consequence of the order's tradition of wearing both a habit and a hood; essentially, the word cappuccino is Italian for hood, but in its diminutive form. Interestingly, depending upon the decision to add either less or more milk than usual, the drink can also be given slightly different names; cappuccino chiaro for a light cappuccino, or cappuccino scuro, meaning dark cappuccino.

What UV Filter fits a EF 18-55m Kit Lens for the Canon 500D T1i?
Should I buy the 55m or 58mm UV Filter for this lens? It's the lens that typically comes with the Canon 500D T1i.
Also, what brands or shops or accessories do you suggest? I also want a petal flower hood but don't want a cheapo one off of eBay.
Thanks in advance!
Canon's filter size for this lens is 58mm, I know I just checked my lens to be sure.
Order your hood from Canon through: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/
Here you'll also find generic hoods at about 1/3 the price and they work just as well as Canon's - I know I own one of them.
Let's see, accessories. Tripod, extra battery, cleaning supplies such as a micro fiber lens cleaner,
a large size women's makeup brush for quick dust offs, extra filters such as a polorizer, ND, those kinds of things come on very handy on occasion. And don't forget a good bag. I use the Tamrac
brand. Mine has room for two dSLR cameras, lenses and all my gadgets. Oh, card readers.
I use readers exclusively for upload - no cables, no extra software to hassle with.
You'll collect lots of things a time goes by. Also be thinking optics. I have four lenses with my
camera but this is my favorite. Quick, sharp and darned accurate.
