Samsung Omnia White Joins the Samsung I900 Omnia 8gb and 16gb

A new colour variant of the Samsung Omnia has now been launched in the UK, the Samsung Omnia White edition has been made available on Vodafone and joins the existing i900 8GB and 16GB models.

The online pictures of the new White Samsung Omnia are a little misleading as most show a view from the front of the phone which looks exactly the same as the other two models, however it is the sides and the rear of the handset that now sport the new white colour giving the Samsung i900 Omnia an almost iPod-esq look.

The new White version is an exact match of the current Samsung Omnia with 8GB of memory and not the larger 16GB in terms of features, design and technology. All of the same great menu options can be found in all three devices nd this latest case it is only the exterior of the handset that has changed.

The difference between the Samsung Omnia 8GB and 16GB is purely as the names state, the only change being the extended inetrnal memory of the latter.

Initially launched on Vodafone the new Samsung Omnia White can only be connected to one of the networks tariffs, however this new device is expected to be offered on further UK networks in the very near future.

The White Samsung Omnia features 3G which stands for third generation, and the system is the third generation in the evolution of mobile networks, after analogue and GSM. 3G offers high speed data transfers and the ability to make video calls between compatible mobile phones.

Bluetooth 2.0 is the next generation of Bluetooth connectivity. With Bluetooth 2.0 one of the biggest advantages is the possibility of listening to music on the Omnia with a compatible wireless headset in stereo. Less wires, less mess, more noise.

The Samsung i900 8GB and 16GB have now been picked up by two networks, Orange and O2 aswell as being available as SIM Free mobile phones whereas the consumer can simply buy the handset outright and unlocked to all UK networks before simply inserting their existing SIM card to retain their current mobile phone number and account details, if the user has saved their contacts to their SIM card these will also move to the new device.

What is the retail price of the Samsung Omnia?

I have the LG Voyager but i can't get an upgrade until March 2010, so what is the retail price of the Samsung Omnia? Like if i were just to walk into the store and buy it with out a plan or anything.

You wouldn't want to do that with any technology. It only goes down in price over time. For example the omnia already has a successor the i8910 HD. On another note the i910 is locked to verizon so you wouldn't be able to buy it without a contract. You can purchase the i900 because it is an unlocked version, but it only works on a GSM band, in laments terms this means any carrier that you need a sim card for (verizon doesn't use sims). i would say wait until 2010 or buy yourself out of your contract. Next time i would say just buy a 1 yr contract so your not waiting as long.
